BlackBerry PlayBook Unboxing
BlackBerry PlayBook Unboxing by Aaron After what seems like an eternity, the BlackBerry PlayBook is finally available on retail shelves. Announced at DEVCON last year, it's available in 16, 32, and 64 GB flavors. It offers a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 7-inch display, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 3-megapixel front-facing camera, and RIM's new QNX platform. The tablet has a lot of potential, but there are a lot of people that are wary of BlackBerry, given that they've fallen behind the curve in the smartphone game. Will the tablet suffer the same fate? T-Mobile G2x Review Part 1
T-Mobile G2x Review Part 1 by Aaron Aaron takes a look at the T-Mobile G2x, LG's first high-end smartphone in the US and one of the best Android devices on the market at the moment. It sports a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, 4-inch WVGA display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, front-facing camera for video calling, and a stock build of Android 2.2. While it seems small for a dual-core device, the 1500 mAh battery does a great job of powering the device through the day with moderate use. It's a fantastic phone, but does it stand a chance against upcoming devices like the HTC EVO 3D, LG Revolution, and Samsung's 4G LTE device? We'll try to figure it out. Samsung Prevail vs LG Optimus M Dogfight Part 1
The Samsung Prevail (Boost Mobile) and Optimus M (MetroPCS) are two mid-range Android smartphones available from prepaid carriers. The Optimus One phones have proven to be solid smartphones, but the Prevail carries a cheaper price tag and stock Android. So which one is better? Watch the Dogfight to find out. All of the Optimus One phones have the same specs despite being on different carriers, so this Dogfight also applies to the Optimus V, S, T, etc. They may not seem like the most exciting phones, but I've consistently been impressed with their performance. HTC DROID Incredible 2 Review Part 2 by Aaron Remember the HTC DROID Incredible? Launched in April of 2010, it suffered from several supply constraints due to its popularity as a high-end Android smartphone. Featuring a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, it offers numerous improvements from the original like global roaming capabilities, a front-facing camera for video calling, moving capacitive buttons, and a new build of HTC's Sense user interface. T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Review Sidekick 4G Unboxing: www.technobuffalo.com More on the Sidekick 4G TechnoBuffalo www.technobuffalo.com TechnoBuffalo on Facebook http Follow Us on Twitter www.twitter.com Like most geeks in their early 30's and late 20's, I've seen the rise and fall of the Sidekick as a brand and a platform. I remember the original black and white progeny of the Danger (Software & OS) and Sharp (Hardware), and staring in wonder at the browser of the Sidekick 2. Much like parachute pants and 90201 sideburns, the Sidekick brand has seen better days. However, every good thing deserves a revival, and the folks at T-Mobile are hoping a complete makeover will make the brand relevant again. The recipe for the new Sidekick 4G is a pretty impressive mix Android (FroYo), a 3.5" (480 X800) capacitive touchscreen powered by Samsung's Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor (the same one found in the Galaxy S line). Does this modern mix of hardware and software breathe new life into an old brand? Does the Sidekick 4G offer enough to separate itself from the growing competition? The answer, is yes and no. Hit play to find out why. T-Mobile SideKick 4G Specs It has two price points: $99.99 (after $50 mail-in rebate) with 2-yr contract and unlimited data plan, or $149.99 for contract plus lower end data plan. Android 2.2 3.5 inch screen Sidekick-style tilting hardware QWERTY keyboard (though no swivel) 1GHz Hummingbird processor Front-facing VGA cam, and rear 3MP camera
