gadget reviews : Xbox LIVE for Windows Phone: Ghostscape

Xbox LIVE for Windows Phone: Ghostscape
One of this week's new Xbox LIVE games for Windows Phone is called Ghostscape. It costs $2.99 and a free trial will be available tomorrow as well. The game is a mystery solving type game where you've got to explore a haunted house, find clues, and photograph ghosts that you might find. Most of the scenery is very two dimensional with a few 3D parts added about. You play by tapping different areas and picking up clues.

Xbox LIVE for Windows Phone: Shuffle Party
"Shuffle Party" is another new Xbox LIVE game coming out tomorrow, and it's a lot of fun. The game features a few different styles of shuffle board game play. There's a bowling style mode where you have to knock over pins with a shuffleboard puck. You'll see your Xbox LIVE avatar show up here once in a while. There's also a "Challenge" mode, which puts obstacles and coins and different scoring areas on the shuffleboard and you have to bounce your pucks around to get the high score. Of course, there's the normal shuffleboard game where you just have to slide your pucks to the end of the table as close to the edge as possible. The most fun mode is the two player shuffleboard mode where you'll have to hand the phone to some one else for their turns. In the two player mode, the object is still to get the high score by sliding your puck to the other end of the board as close to the edge as possible, but you've got the added excitement of a friend who may knock your pucks off the board or block you from scoring. Shuffle Party will be available in the Windows Phone Marketplace tomorrow for free. I highly recommend that you download it. It's a lot of fun.

gadget reviews : Samsung Stratosphere Review

Samsung Stratosphere Review
Samsung Stratosphere Review It seems as though high-end QWERTY sliders are traveling alongside the Bald Eagle these days. It's rarer to find them in the wild today, thanks to the surge of sexy thin and light devices like the Motorola Droid RAZR or Samsung Galaxy Nexus. That's why the Samsung Stratosphere's release was a bit of a quagmire. In many ways, the Samsung Stratosphere is Verizon's version of last year's Epic 4G for Sprint. In fact, it would have made more sense for the phones to have been released simultaneously back in New York last year. But perhaps there was some sort of manufacturing or engineering hiccup that led the Stratosphere to a late 2011 debut. Maybe Samsung wanted the phone to take advantage of Verizon's 4G LTE network and didn't want to rush it out the door. Canon PowerShot SX40 HS Review If big optical zooms, top-notch image stabilization and advanced manual controls light your fixed-lens digital camera fire, then the Canon PowerShot SX40 HS ($429.99 MSRP) is the ultimate kindling. It's got an obscene 35x optical zoom 24mm wide-angle lens paired with Canon's stellar optical image stabilization and a new Intelligent IS mode. The PowerShot SX40 HS also received a new 12.2-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor with the latest Digic 5 processing for higher noise reduction and faster speeds, enabling the SX40 HS to capture up to 8fps in Burst mode at full resolution. Canon also boosted the camera's video ability to 1080p Full HS at 24fps and the Smart Auto mode has been expanded to reference up to 32 scenes. While most of the PowerShot SX40 HS's renovations have transpired inside the camera, its external design remains untouched for 2011. Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM) Hardware Tour
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is Google's latest "launch-device". This time around Google is launching Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and some cool new hardware tricks. Picking up where the Nexus S (also a launch-device) left off, The Galaxy Nexus includes a gently curved screen. I emphasis "gently" because, unless you're specifically looking for it, you may not even notice it. But don't let that graceful sheet of glass fool you, although not the trademarked "Gorilla Glass" some other smartphones use, the glass on the Galaxy Nexus is durable and scratch resistant. On the top of the phone you'll find absolutely nothing. On the right-side is the power button and three gold dots (which we assume will be used for charging on compatible accessories, when they become available). On the left-side is a the volume-rocker. On the bottom a microUSB port, microphone, and 3.5mm headset jack. Not only does the microUSB port serve for charging and data transfer, with the right cable you're supposed to get HDMI out as well. The back of the phone has a removable battery cover with a pleasant texture and a very light amount of "tack" to it for extra grip. Inside the cover is where you'll install the 1750mAh battery (the LTE version will reported have a larger, 1850mAh battery) and the regularly sized GSM SIM. No external sdcard slot is present, but with 16GB internal storage (the LTE version may have 32GB internal storage), you should have plenty of room for all your stuff. The back of

Amazon Kindle Touch Review
Amazon Kindle Touch Review You'd think with the popularity of tablets being at an all time high, there'd hardly be room for e-readers. That's an understandable assumption, but it doesn't give enough credit to what a quality these devices offer. Amazon obviously feels the market is still bustling with activity, as the company currently offers three different e-ink devices -- Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard. The Kindle Touch is a device that has immediate appeal because it combines the old technology (barebones Kindle) with the new (multi-touch support). Not to mention it's a Kindle, which for some is reason enough to hop on board. Consumers, especially ones who have used an older Kindle, will feel comfortable with the device's simplicity and utilitarian approach.
